Saira Ramasastry, Managing Partner of Life Sciences Advisory, is a seasoned industry insider with over 20 years of transaction and advisory experience.
Prior to LSA, Saira helped establish the leading life sciences franchise on Wall Street at Merrill Lynch and was responsible for biotech coverage for a decade. Her clients have included Vertex, Medivation (now Pfizer), Theravance, CV Therapeutics (now Gilead), ZymoGenetics (now BMS) and ICOS (now Eli Lilly). Prior to Merrill Lynch, Saira worked in M&A and Restructuring at Wasserstein Perella.
Saira is a recognized thought leader on life sciences public-private alliances and is frequently called upon as a speaker. She serves on the Industry Advisory Board of the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Chief Business Advisor for the European Prevention of Alzheimer's Dementia (EPAD) consortium and as a Special Advisor for the G8 Dementia Initiatives. She serves on the boards of several public and private life sciences companies and philanthropic organizations.
Saira has a B.A. in Economics with Honors and Distinction from Stanford University where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa, and advanced degrees in Management Science & Engineering and Management Studies from Stanford University and the University of Cambridge. She is a Lecturer for the Bioscience Enterprise Program and serves on the Advisory Council of the Cambridge Judge Business School. Saira was named to the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal's 40 under 40 list, and recently received awards from Acquisition International and CorporateLiveWire as a top life sciences advisor.
